1. Heritage Hour: How do you build a city museum
When: October 5, 12-1 p.m., Memorial Hall inside City Hall.
What do you love most about Kingston? Where in the city do you feel most at home? These are just some of the many questions people are invited to answer at 36 Questions that Lead to Loving Kingston, a fun and interactive exhibit in City Hall’s Market Wing Cultural Space.
The exhibit originated from Myseum of Toronto and was adapted for Kingston earlier this year. It offers a unique experience for people across the community to interact with others in an indirect way.
During this month’s Heritage Hour, Myseum of Toronto’s Executive Director Heidi Reitmaier will share insights into how the museum experience has changed and how Myseum of Toronto is reflecting that change. Heidi Reitmaier has worked for over 20 years in museums around the world including the Art Gallery of Ontario, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, and the Tate Gallery, London. She will also talk about 36 Questions that Lead to Loving Kingston and how this type of exhibit provides insight into the multi-faceted identity of a diverse and ever-changing city. Learn more here.

9. Casting Off by A Good Catch Circus
When: Oct. 29 at Kingston Grand Theatre * This is an IMPACT show meaning there are tons of ways to save on tickets. Are you under 30? An Arts worker? On the Municipal Fee Assistance program. Learn more about ways to save.
Dynamic and gutsy with an abundance of absurdity, Casting Off is circus-as-conversation that boldly challenges convention and topples expectation with raucous and poetic beauty.
Casting off stereotypes, three generations of spirited women talk, tumble, fly, and balance precariously. The personal is political, the furious is funny, and the acrobatics are downright dangerous. Self-directed, hand-knitted, and honouring the life events that get in the way of work, Casting Off is an exuberant accumulation of moments that shine a light on women in playful, fruitful and radical relationships. Monologues, melodies, arguments and chit-chat infiltrate acrobatics with philosophical charm. Always intimate and a little bit improvised, the work is immediate, communal and authentic. Get Tickets
